Magento Extension: Optimised Product Addition

Posted on: 17th Jan 2012 By: Robert Kent 3 Comments

Hi Folks! Long time no speak!

Today I wanted to talk to your about our new extension – Optimised Product Addition You can find it on Magento Connect!

What this extension does is to add a piece of javascript to your admin panel – when you click on the “Add Product” tab this extension will set a few things to a different default setting:

Status: Enabled

Tax Class: Taxable Goods

Stock Availability: In Stock

Inventory Qty Decimal: Yes

SKU: Next availabile incremental ID (If applicable)

And That’s it! Just a quick extension that might make your lives easier if you need them. If you want to edit anything just have a look at the javascript file and comment out any lines that you don’t need.

For those who want to download and install manually here are the files.

Thanks for visiting the Magento Blog here at e-commerce web design, home of the Magento Fox!

Great little extension, but I am missing a crucial point.

Clearing the URL key when duplicating a product, if you could include this in the extension it could be great :)

The auto sku generation does not work (mag 1.5.1).
The field is filled with “NaN”.
    Any idea what’s wrong here?

Thanks for that very useful extension. But I have the same problem about SKU. It’s filled with NaN.
